Melissa Irene Thompson
Age 46, of Circle Pines, passed away unexpectedly November 24, 2021.
Melissa could best be described as strong-willed and adamantly independent. She has a vibrancy and vitality that lit up any room she entered and drew people to her; no one was a stranger for long. She was proud of being a single mom, raising her children with unconditional love. The kids come first. In her free time, Melissa ran; she loved running, especially when she was able to train to a marathon. She had just entered to run the 2022 Grandma’s Marathon, and was ready to begin training in earnest. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her grandma, Yvonne Durkot; and her loved dog, Carly. She is survived by her children, Derek, Deven and Alexis; parents, James and Deborah Berry; siblings, Daniel (Kari) Berry and Jennifer (Clinton) Martinez; nieces and nephews; a menagerie of beloved fur babies; and a host of other loving family and friends.
A Celebration of Melissa’s life will be Saturday, December 18 from 12:00 – 3:00 PM at BRADSHAW CELEBRATION OF LIFE CENTER (4600 Greenhaven Drive, White Bear).
Goodbye Is Not Forever
When you lived your life for others
and you loved without condition
When you made so many laugh
and your smile won't be forgotten
When you left behind and empty place
that no one else can fll
When the friendships that you shared
long to be renewed
When you built your life on hope
and fulfilled it every day
The footprints that you left behind
will bring us face to face
So, goodbye is not forever
You're only steps away.
