Merle Jack Lee
Jack was born in Minneapolis on August 8, 1929 to Chester & Helen Lee and passed away at home on January 13, 2022 surrounded by his family.
He graduated from Roosevelt High School and got his BA in Business at the U of M. Jack retired from 3M after 31 years as a product manager. Jack served in the Air Force from 1952 to 1955. While stationed in Germany, he met his wife Gisela. Gisela came to the United States and they married in June of 1957. Jack and Gisela had two children: Brad and Laura. They raised their children in Lake Elmo and retired to their home in Stillwater.
Jack is preceded in death by his parents, Chet & Helen, brother Gerald Lee, and sister Marilyn. Jack is survived by his spouse, Gisela; sister, Cindy Moir (Ken); children, Brad (Sue), and Laura; grandchildren, Jenica Lee, Linde Jacobs (Taylor), Ashlyn Lee (Tim), Will Richardson, Arthur Befumo (Gess), and Luke Befumo; six great-grandchildren.
Jack loved to travel. He and Gisela enjoyed trips outside of the U.S to Germany, Europe and Mexico. Jack and Gisela also took family trips skiing. Jack loved the mountains where he met lifetime friends while working at Glacier Park during college. He continued to join those friends at Glacier Park annually throughout retirement. Above all, Jack loved spending time with family, especially at the family cabin in Balsam Lake, WI. Jack was a very loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend and will be missed by all.
Gisela would like to thank all their friends, neighbors and family for the wonderful support and many prayers for her and Jack.
A celebration of Jack’s life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers: gifts to Lakeview Hospice or the Alzheimer’s Association are preferred by the family.
