Michael Edward Costello

Michael Edward Costello, 60, passed away surrounded by loved ones on September 26, 2024 after a long struggle with cancer. Michael was born on January 3rd, 1964 in Minneapolis, MN, where he was raised by Lenore (Kapphahn) and Paul Costello. Michael loved life and was well loved by everyone that truly knew him. He had the softest heart when it came to caring for animals of all kinds. He cherished spending time farming, gardening, and working in the yard. He adored the holidays and would annually announce, "Only 364 days left until Christmas!" directly after it ended. Boisterous and social, he was loved and respected by his fellow employees and went out of his way to introduce himself to surrounding neighbors when the opportunity arose. When family, friends, and coworkers needed assistance, Mike had their back. He was a guiding light through the darkness for those who were lost in it. 

Michael is survived by: Spouse, Sarah Costello; son, Travis Costello; mother, Lenore Costello; sisters, Carolyn Overland, Sally Costello (Wendi Storhoff), and Jennifer Costello; and multiple nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

In keeping with Michael's wishes, a private family interment will be held. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Animal Humane Society where he adopted his beloved cat, Kiki.
