Doe, Michael James
Born December 12th, 1938 in Stillwater, MN, died December 7th, 2015. Attended St Michaels Catholic School, Stillwater High School and St. Cloud State University. Mike spent 30 years working for 3M, then, upon early retirement, went to work for Demand Solutions, a job he truly loved. A lifetime sports fan, Mike played basketball during high school and college, and was a major fan of Gopher Basketball. When his two daughters came along there were few opportunities for girls' athletics. Because of that, he became a founding member of the Valley Athletic Association, coaching for many years. Mike enjoyed golfing, woodworking, boating on the St. Croix, and traveling the world with Susan, visiting friends and relatives while researching his family genealogy. Preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Susan, and parents, Merle and Ernest Doe. Survived by children, Sarah Ulrich, Elizabeth (Allan) Reding, Jeffrey (Kimberly) Doe; grandchildren, Matthew and Cole Ulrich, Katherine and William Reding, and Stephanie, Lauren, and Mara Doe; brothers, Thomas (Jan) Doe, James (Susan) Doe, Gerald Doe; sister, Elizabeth Doe; many nephews, nieces, and close friends. Service Friday, December 11, 2015, 11:00 A.M. at TRINITY LUTHERAN CHURCH, 115 North 4th Street, Stillwater. Interment Hazelwood Cemetery. Visitation Thursday, December 10, 2015, 4:00-7:00 P.M. at BRADSHAW CELEBRATION OF LIFE CENTER, 2800 Curve Crest Boulevard (NW corner of Hwy 36 and Co Rd 5), Stillwater and also one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to The American Cancer Society, or the Valley Athletic Association.
