Michael Westley Hunter was born January 3, 1956 in Chicago, Illinois to Fred A. and Clotiel Hunter Sr. He attended Paul Revere Elementary and Hirsch High School. Following his beloved parents, he later moved to Michigan where he worked briefly at Everett Piano Company. Michael, whom many called "Magic," was a free spirit who enjoyed traveling, but many would say he missed his calling in life to be a comedian. He was fun loving and always had a joke or funny story to tell, he also enjoyed impersonating James Brown.
Ultimately his travel would lead him to settle in St. Paul, Minnesota where he spent thirty plus years with his loving and supportive partner Renee McGeehan.
On July 21, 2016 Michael departed this life after a lengthy illness. He was preceded in death by his parents Fred Sr. and Clotiel Hunter, son Corey Perkins, brother Fred Hunter Jr. and niece Carla Pirtle.
Leaving to cherish his memory his partner, Renee McGeehan; three daughters, Laneka Robinson and Lela White of Illinois, Deione (Napoleon) Stevens of North Carolina; three sons, Michael Hunter, Jr. of Michigan, Charles McGeehan and John Bienhoff; ten grandchildren Jayla, Jaylen, Ricardo, Jeremiah, Nehemiah, Blake, Corey Jr, Alyssa, Angela, Ashley; one great-grandchild, Tayge Perillo; one sister,
Constance (John) Gayles of Georgia; one aunt, Della Davis of Texas; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
