Michael Jeffrey Laub; November 21, 2016. Born to Helen and Murray Laub in Bay Shore, New York, Michael graduated from Edina High School and later attended St. Olaf College before graduating from the University of Minnesota with a Bachelor's Degree in English. Michael, an executive, excelled in business; initially running a family business with his father for many years, followed by several prominent manufacturing businesses. Michael's integrity in business translated into a passion for mentoring others embarking or struggling in their careers. He desired to help others achieve their potential without any personal motives. However, Michael's passion for business was only a part of who he was. He was a thinker, a fighter, a reader, a poet, an adventurer and a rebel. Most of all, he was the most affectionate, fun and protective husband, father, brother and son a family could ask for. Michael is survived by his partner in life and love, wife of 44 years, Debbie, along with their three daughters Erin (Lee) Bloomquist, Sarah (Kyle) Skubas and Mara Laub. Michael lives on in his daughters and grandchildren Olivia, Sophia, Jordan and Sam. The family will hold a private celebration of Michael's life and asks that memorials be made to the Smiley's Family Medicine Fund c/o the U of M Foundation.
