Michelle Karen Gustafson, 51, a resident of the Banks, Oregon community, died Wednesday morning, May 18, 2016 at her home. She was born on December 25, 1964 in St. Paul, Minnesota, the daughter of Marvin Earl Cranston Sr. and Sadie Vivian (Vivoda) Bacigalupo. A 1983 graduate of White Bear High School, she also attended
Vocational School earning a degree in Painting & Decorating. She married Thomas R. Gustafson on July 25, 1987, in St. Paul, Minnesota and they moved to Escondido, California in November, 1987, where their son Kyle was born in 1989. In 1992 they settled in Hillsboro, Oregon where their daughter Kayla was born
the same year. They moved to the Banks community in 1997 to raise their family, where they have resided since.
Michelle had many interests as a free spirit entrepreneur with small businesses in Painting & Decorating, Jazzercise Instructing, and Mary Kay Consulting over the years. Her most passionate job, however, was as a Homemaker and raising her children. They were her pride and joy. She was outgoing, had a big heart for helpingothers, and enjoyed travel, movies, dancing, reading, and growing in her faith. She was a member of the Hillsboro United Methodist Church. She enjoyed caring for her beloved pets Sasha, Xena, Forest, Carol, Lilly, Hazel and her new 'grand-dogs' Calvin and Daisy.
She is preceded in death by her father, Marvin Earl Cranston Sr.; her step-father Donald James Bacigalupo and her brother, D.J. Bacigalupo. Survivors include her
husband, Thomas R. Gustafson, of the family home in Banks, Oregon; her two children, Kyle Gustafson and his significant other, Kristen, of Banks Oregon and Kayla Gustafson, of Knoxville, Tennessee; her adopted son (nephew) Brandon Bacigalupo, St. Paul, Minnesota; her mother, Sadie V. Bacigalupo, of Vadnais Heights, Minnesota; her 9 siblings and their spouses, Jim and Deb Cranston, of St. Paul, Minnesota; Mary Cranston, of Woodstock, Illinois; Pam and Tony Gunter, of Blaine, Minnesota; Raymond Cranston, of Vadnais Heights, Minnesota; Marvin Cranston, Jr., of Vadnais Heights, Minnesota; George Cranston, of Clear Lake, Wisconsin; Susan Bacigalupo, and her significant other, Brian, of Little Canada, Minnesota; Lisa Bacigalupo, of Shore View, Minnesota and Je" Bacigalupo, and his significant other, Lori, of St. Paul, Minnesota; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family suggests remembrances may be contributions to the Oregon Friends of Shelter Animals (OFOSA) www.ofosa.org, in her memory.
