Passed away unexpectedly from natural causes on December 29, 2022. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rush and Patricia; brother, Patrick; niece, Bridget. The hole he leaves behind will be as big as his presence ever was, and he will be deeply missed by those who survive him: his wife and best friend, Heidi; daughters, Rowen and Greer; siblings, Rush, Katie Sandstedt, Peter; nieces, nephews and many friends and colleagues.

Murray grew up in Hopkins and raised his family in Stillwater. As a clinical pain psychologist, Dr. McAllister dedicated his life’s work to changing the paradigm in his field. Murray was also a musician, an excellent cook, an aspiring naturalist, and an avid road-tripper! While Murray certainly had many interests and was fulfilled by his career and hobbies, all of that was superceded by his love for his family. Being a husband and a dad was his superpower.

Memorial service will be at 11:00am Friday, January 6 at BRADSHAW, 2800 Curve Crest Blvd, Stillwater, with visitation beginning at 9:00. In lieu of flowers, please consider planting a tree in Murray’s memory. The link can be found on this page.
