Myrtle Marie Janilla

March 8, 1926 - January 8, 2025

Passed away peacefully at her home at Croixdale in Bayport. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred. She will be missed by those who survive her: her children, Tim (Deanna) Janilla of Easley, SC, Roxanne (Larry Duerk) of Lakewood, OH, Barry Janilla of Stillwater, MN; grandchildren, Alex (Jessica Hardison) Piotrowski of Lakewood, OH, Katelyn (Mike) Brown of Seven Hills, OH, Alyssa Janilla of Stillwater, MN, Colin Janilla of Minneapolis, MN; great-grandchildren, Aurora and Felix Piotrowski, Henry Brown, all of Ohio.

Myrtle was born in Bayport and moved to Stillwater in her early teens. She married young and worked hard to provide all her family's needs. Myrtle worked at many different jobs, including Goggin Candy Company for 14 years, and was a well-known caterer in the St. Croix Valley. She was an excellent seamstress and quick to take on home improvement projects. Myrtle was never one to sit still for long, and cultivated many friendships. In retirement, she traveled on cruises, enjoyed country western music and Lawrence Welk. A brave adventurer, Myrtle was a lifelong learner, and received her first library card at age 90.

A memorial picnic is being planned for a future date.
