Passed away tragically on June 8, 2015, after a long battle with mental illness. Nick is survived by his parents, Noel and Bill; brothers, Eric (Lucinda) and Nate (Jessica); nieces, Lydia, Evelyn, and Astrid; grandmother, Ruth; uncles, Bob, Tim, Joel, and Bart; aunts, Linsey, Kim, and Vallie; cousins, Peter (Julia), Andrew (Ruthie), Micah (Kimberly), Kirsten (Dillon) and Wesley (fiancAC.e Kaia). Nick loved fiercely, struggled valiantly, and made beautiful music. He shared his musical gifts and compassionate spirit with everyone - churches and halls packed with rapt audiences, nursing home residents, loved ones, and strangers on the street. He was an adoring and playful uncle to his three nieces. Nick was a singer and soloist with the Valley Chamber Chorale and regularly contributed his time to volunteer projects in his community. He held a degree in vocal performance from Augsburg College, and sang with a powerful baritone. He brought light to others every day. A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 13th at 3 PM at TRINITY LUTHERAN CHURCH, 115 North 4th St., Stillwater with a visitation beginning at 1 PM.
