Nora E. Galvin
Age 56, passed away on May 28, 2022, in St. Paul, following a battle with chronic leukemia. Preceded in death by parents Michael J. Galvin, Jr. and Frances C. Galvin, and brother Kevin B. Galvin. Survived by her loving wife of 8 years, Jeani Pearson, five remaining siblings, thee sisters-in-law, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Nora stood out. From her boisterous upbringing in the nine-person Galvin household, Nora emerged as “The Funny One.” She enjoyed people and making them laugh. She was never the first to leave a gathering. Nora loved her nieces and nephews with fierce loyalty and was the undisputed “Favorite Aunt” of them all. She wasn’t called “Aunt No-No” for nothing: She taught kids how to use the household electronics, served candy for dinner, and showed them how fun bouncing on the bed could be. Movie outings, overnight sleepovers, and more. Nora brought the party. She also was a tremendous chef and served many wonderful holiday meals to her appreciative family and friends. Her famous No Peek Prime Rib recipe has secured a place in many home recipe collections. Nora also enjoyed history, travel, and sports. She was a fantastic golfer.
Nora graduated from Visitation High School in 1984 and Creighton University in 1988. She worked for many years at Knowlan’s Food Markets in marketing and at the St. Paul Pioneer Press newspaper in sales. Most recently, she worked for UPS in sales. Nora retired in the fall of 2020 after her diagnosis of chronic leukemia. While the Covid pandemic put a damper on the plans for travel that they made, she was at least able to spend her too-short retirement time at home with Jeani, her love. Together they made a loving family.
