Went to be with her Lord on September 10th, 2013 after a short battle with cancer. Nordis is survived by her beloved husband of 54 years, Roger. She will forever be "the love of his life." She gave the gift of life and love to her sons Randall (Theresa), Reed (Bridgett), and Ross (Jean), they will miss her laugh and sense of humor. Nordis adored her grandchildren; Brianna, Brandt, Jenna, Benjamin, Samuel, Kylie, Brady, and Cora will always cherish their special days with grandma. Nordis' sisters Lois (Robert) Andrews and Gayle Bupara shared many adventures in life with her and helped ease her suffering during her final days. Extended family and friends were important to Nordis, she brought much joy to those who knew her. Nordis is preceded in death by parents Albert and Mae Christensen. Nordis was born on February 4th, 1939 in Clarkfield Minnesota and raised on the family farm. Graduated from Clarkfield High in 1957 and from Gustavus Adolphus College in 1959. Nordis and Roger married in 1959 at Spring Creek Church. She worked as an office administrator at various companies, but raising her family was always the most important thing in her life. Nordis was a passionate bridge player, she attained regional master status and played at every opportunity. Her other interests included fishing, watching sports, quilting, and cooking. She supported her grandchildren in all of their activities. Keeping traditions alive and gathering with family and friends made Nordis very happy, she loved to be a part of every event, large or small. Nordis remained a country girl at heart, she loved country churches and visiting her rural childhood home town. Nordis loved God and family. She is loved and will be missed. Memorial service Monday, September 16, 2013 at 10:00 A.M. at ST. ANDREW'S LUTHERAN CHURCH, 900 Stillwater Rd., Mahtomedi. Interment Union Cemetery. Visitation Sunday 3:00-6:00 P.M. at BRADSHAW CELEBRATION OF LIFE CENTER, 2800 Curve Crest Boulevard (NW corner of Hwy 36 & Co Rd 5), Stillwater and also one hour prior to the service at church. Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers. Memorials can be sent to the family to be directed, or to Health East Hospice.
