Noreen B. McKenna
(nee Arntzen)
Noreen entered into eternal rest on April 15, 2022 surrounded by the presence and prayers of her family.
Noreen was born on February 4, 1934 in St. Paul to the late, Harry Arntzen and Helen (Costello). She was raised in St. Paul and graduated from St. Agnes High School in 1951. One evening, while attending an outing with friends, she met a young man. That man was Robert T. “Bob” McKenna (Cretin class of ’48). He became her beloved husband of 63 years on May 15, 1954 at St. Patrick’s Church in St. Paul. Bob preceded her in death in 2017. Together they raised five children in St. Paul, Palatine, IL, Peoria, IL and Chantilly, VA.
Noreen is survived by her five children, Terese (Mark) Berens, Jodell (Edward) Zimmers, Kevin (Nancy Cuba), Timothy (Catherine Balint), and David (Stephanie Chiles). She also leaves behind twelve grandchildren, Sara, Ryan, Amber, Emily, Megan, Bobby, Hope, Shannon, Andrew, Nathan, Brianna, and Alison. She also leaves three great-grandchildren, Charlotte, Margot, and Genevieve.
In addition to her parents, and husband, she is preceded in death by her sister, Donna (Dick) Fox; and brother, Patrick (Mary Catherine Taylor)
Noreen and Bob retired to Boutwell’s Landing in Oak Park Heights, MN in 2007. It was good to be home.
Mass of Christian Burial, Friday, May 27, 11:00A.M. at ST MICHAEL’S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 611 South 3rd Street, Stillwater with a visitation one hour prior to the Mass at the church. Family will receive friends following the service at the church. Private interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to St. Croix Catholic School Library, 621 South 3rd Street, Stillwater, MN 55082.
