Norma Lee (Gill) Beyer passed away peacefully on March 13th, 2023, at the age of 90. She was born September 12th, 1932, in Grand Rapids, Michigan to Hilton and Anne Gill and moved to Sheboygan when she was a young girl. After high school she attended Prospect Hall in Milwaukee and became a secretary for International Harvester Corporation. In 1953 she married Conrad Beyer, the love of her life. Norma and Connie enjoyed 50 years of marriage and loved annual trips to Door County and Northern Wisconsin with their family or just the two of them. They made a point of visiting their children as they moved from state to state and as far as Hong Kong. Norma cherished her life in Sheboygan. She was active in Service Club, volunteered at Memorial and St. Nicholas Hospitals, Mead Public Library, John Michael Kohler Arts Center, and Meals on Wheels. Norma loved and tended to her garden as she did her children, grandchildren, friends, and extended family. She nurtured them with kindness, generosity, attentive listening, warmth, and a loving heart. Her grandchildren recall that her home always smelled of freshly baked cookies or something delicious and her arms were always open wide ready for a hug the moment they arrived. Beyond her warmth and loving heart, her elegance, grace, and quiet reverence for art, beauty, music, travel, gardening, sewing, and philosophical discourse were cherished by everyone she met. Her closest friends described her as compassionate, and always present in their lives with support and love. In 2020 she moved to Bayport, Minnesota to be closer to her children Ann and Tim and their families. Those that cared for her at Croixdale often referred to her as classy, beautiful, witty, and always up for fun.
A loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Norma was preceded in death by her husband Conrad Beyer; parents, Hilton and Anne Gill, sister Carol Colton, and son, Jeffrey Beyer
Survived by daughter Ann Maakestad (Tom), son: Tim Beyer (Debbie); grandchildren Marly and James Beyer, Drew La Londe (Alex), and Johnathan Beyer; great-grandchildren Greyson La Londe, siblings Nancy Kuechle, Gordon Gill (Carolyn), nieces, nephews, and many good friends.
