Olivia L. Vavreck

Olivia L. Vavreck, age 90, of Minneapolis, Minnesota, passed peacefully on August 6, 2024, surrounded by family. She was born in Tucson, Arizona in 1933, moving to Minnesota in 1950. All who knew Olivia, including those who knew her as Gloria, will remember her as a dedicated and loving mother, a trusted and reliable friend, and an accomplished professional. She loved the snow, a multitude of pets, and never forgot being befriended by a chickadee. She had a knack for achieving very much with very little. With a high school diploma, she retired as Chief of Logistics for the Army Corps of Engineers, with a pile of well-deserved accolades, and on her terms. Her quick wit, clever sense of humor, radiant smile, and positive outlook on life will be greatly missed. Olivia was preceded in death by husband Joseph, son Paul, parents Eva and Jesus, and Ysela Anaya, and is survived by sons Thomas (Karen) and Mark (Danyl), daughters Judith Vavreck, and Lara Keehn (Michael), grandchildren Mikayla, Eva, Sophia, Ally, Derek, Paula, greatgrandchildren Adeline and Oliver.

Memorial Service is August 16, 2024, 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Bradshaw Funeral Home, 3131 Minnehaha Avenue South, Minneapolis, MN 55406.

Funeral Service is August 17, 2024, 11:00 a.m. at St. Albert the Great Church, 2836 33rd Avenue South, Minneapolis, MN 55406, followed by luncheon.
