Age 85 of St. Paul. Preceded in death by parents, Oscar and Cora; brothers, Kenneth and Douglas Peterson; sisters, Donice Knothe and Marion Lenton. Survived by wife of 59 years, Emma; children, Sonia Aswegan (Jim), Charlie (Orval Jr.) Quarstad (Sandy), Sharon Taylor and Brian Quarstad; grandchildren, Daniel, Melissa, Kimberly, Aaron, Christopher, Susan, Erik, Karissa and Jacob; brothers, Dale Peterson and Louis Watson.
Orval was awarded the Purple Heart, he retired from the St. Paul Post Office in 1980 and was a longtime member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. Memorial Service Monday 11:00AM at IMMANUEL LUTHERAN CHURCH, 104 Snelling Avenue So. Gathering one hour prior to service. Interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Memorials preferred to Immanuel Lutheran Church or the Minnesota Veteran?s Home in Mpls. in memory of Orval Quarstad.
