Pahoua Yang Xiong, 53, of Maplewood, MN passed on Thursday, October 29, 2020 at home, surrounded by family.
She was born November 3, 1966 in Laos, to Nhia Ying Yang and Xe Vue. Her father and mother preceded her in death. She married Cher Tong Xiong on July 21, 1984 and he survives. Also surviving are her five daughters, Bee (Pao), Pa Nhia (Hunter), Sheng (Dao), YangMee, and Mai Kia (Chavorn); one son, Tony (Zoua); four grandsons, Calvin, Connor, Cooper, and Cameron.
Pahoua left her childhood home in Laos at the age of 5 and was raised in Pontiac, MI where she met and married Cher Tong. They briefly lived in Eau Claire and Marshfield, WI before settling in Saint Paul, MN in May 1986.
She was a loving and caring mother who diligently and tirelessly provided for her family. She found comfort in the simple things in life such as leisurely sitting outside taking in good weather, and conversing with family. She was an avid collector of many items - receipts, jewelry, traditional Hmong clothing, and dresses.
She became a believer later in life, in 2016, and was a member of Life Transformation Church. She leaves behind her desire to travel and explore the world. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends and all who knew her.
