Paula's motto was "If you can't say something nice don't say it at all" and that is how she lived her life. With Paula there was never a cross word. She practiced Family, Friends, Faith, Loyalty and Fun.

Coming from a family of scholars, school administrators and teachers she held education in high regards. Paula was born in North Dakota and entered North Dakota State at age 16, participating in theatre, dancing and cheerleading. She entered Mayville State Teachers College and graduated at 20. She went on to get her Masters degree at the University of Minnesota.

Paula started her career as a teacher in Tower, MN., in 1951 she met the love of her life Bruce Norsted and moved to Virginia, MN where they were married for 50 wonderful years. Paula continued to teach for 28 years. Her students through the years were blessed with her knowledge and kindness.

Paula was a joiner and a leader in clubs and organizations; 4-H leader, bridge clubs, eastern star, A lifetime member of the First Methodist Church and Weslyan Service Guild, MEA, NEA, Alpha Delta Kappa and many more.

We will all miss her laughs, jokes, toasts, stories and songs and her talent for not taking herself too seriously.

Even in her last years she was the light of everyone's day. Our family is thankful for the care she received over the last ten years and ask that memorials be designated to "The Pillars Hospice Center".
