Perry Harold Preuss

Perry Harold Preuss, 64, of Stillwater, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by loved ones on August 22, 2024 after a courageous two year battle with pancreatic cancer. Beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, angler, hunter, outdoorsman, photographer, Dad joke aficionado, and lover of life. He was also lovingly known as Mr. P, Perry Paparazzi, Polar Bear, PP, Silver Fox, Snuggle Bear, Tank Top Beary, Dogg, Papa, and Lovebug. 

He met his loving wife in 1973 at the age of 13. They married in 1982 and had three children, Justin, Nathan, and Megan. They lived happily in the Croixwood neighborhood for 41 years where they made amazing memories with family and friends. 

He retired from a long career in IT in January 2022. In his spare time he enjoyed being outdoors hunting, fishing, boating on the St. Croix, and keeping a well-manicured lawn. He and Debbie loved to travel, with their most recent destination being Glacier National Park in June of this year: it was a must-see on their bucket list. They also frequented the North Shore and loved the sites and scenery. He always looked forward to trips up north to the hunting shack in Nemadji State Forest with family and friends. He was a well-known “grill master”, constantly creating incredible BBQ meals for family and friends. Additional hobbies included the Minnesota Vikings, playing softball, Harley Davidson Motorcycles, his annual “IronMan” weekends with friends, and capturing countless moments with his camera.

Perry was the husband of his bride, Debbie, to whom he shared a beautiful marriage with for 42 years. He was the father to Justin (Hannah), Nathan (Jamie), and Megan Glaser (Brad). He is also survived by his brother Carey (Denise), sister Kathy Lang (Richard), his mother-in-law Karen Miller, siblings-in-law Tom Folz (Lisa), Rich Folz (Shelli), Denise Delander (Al), many nieces and nephews, other relatives and so many loving friends. 

A special thank you to nurse Devin and the Lakeview Hospice Team for their compassionate care and support. 

A service will be held at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Stillwater on Wednesday, August 28th. The visitation will begin at 9:30, with the service starting at 11:30. Family and friends are invited to a luncheon at the church immediately following the service. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the family. The family thanks their incredible community for surrounding them with so much love and care during this challenging time.
