Phyllis Dixon Langseth was called home by our Heavenly Father on September 15, 2021. A strong, independent and proud Norwegian, she was born on July 17, 1936 to Harriet and Melvin Langseth in Glyndon, Minnesota.
Phyllis was an avid reader, a talented writer, an English teacher for 26 years, and often had a small dog in tow. She loved travel, being at her A frame on the lake, dachshunds, sunflowers and chocolate ice cream. Following the loss of her daughter in 1995, Phyllis stepped in to raise her three grandchildren, Becky, Katie and Jake. Only Phyllis could have done such an amazing job fulfilling the role of both mother and father when they needed her most.
Though her family will miss her quick wit, tenacity and strong spirit, we know she is now at peace and reunited with her parents, sister Thea and her beloved daughter Kim.
Phyllis is survived by her brother Marlyn (Donelda) Langseth and sister Sharon (Ron) Kalmes, sons Greg (Liz), Brad (Linda) and Gary Dixon. Grandchildren Becky (Ben) Knutson, Katie (Cameron) Duncan, Anna (Rob) Spiczka, Jake (Jill) Ballandby, Amanda (Andrew) Rose, 6 Great Grandchildren and numerous other family and friends.
