Rae-Marie Lehrke

d. November 25, 2016

Lehrke, Rae-Marie (Pond), age 77, Minneapolis. Passed away surrounded by her family on November 25, 2016, following a brief, brave battle with pancreatic cancer. Rae was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, and had friends too numerous to count. A twelve-year employee of Sears Catalog Dept, she worked there until it closed. She loved to ride her bike around the neighborhood and visit with her neighbors. Her happy place was South Dakota, which she called "God's Country". Waiting for her in heaven were her parents, Bill and Ebba Pond, sisters Agnes, Venoy, Sheilah, and Wilma, and brothers Wendell, Charles, Pat, Burnell, Merle, and Delos and other beloved family members. Rae is survived and will be dearly missed by her loving husband of 58 years, Bill; daughters Tammy Adams (Scott), Melanie Bailey, Stacy Johnson (AJ), Alecia Zerr (Bob), and son Shane Lehrke (Jill); brother Roland Pond (Janice), sisters-in-law Alice Pond and Valeria Pond; 7 treasured grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends. Visitation 4-7 Tuesday, November 29 at Bradshaw Funeral Home, 3131 Minnehaha Ave S., Minneapolis. Funeral service to be held Wednesday, November 30 at 11:00 am, at Minnehaha Lutheran Church, 4101 37th Ave S., Minneapolis, with visitation one hour prior to the service. There will be visitation at Peever Lutheran Church prior to interment at the Peever Cemetery, Peever, SD on December 2 at 11:00 am. Special thanks to Diane Light, Jan Johnston, and Mary Bohman of Allina Health Hospice. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family preferred.
