Sorenson Sanders, Ramona (Nee: Christopherson)

Age 81

Passed away peacefully on March 6, 2022 with her children at her side after multiple courageous battles with cancer.  Ramona was born on June 9, 1940 to Raymond and Edna (Taylor) Christopherson in Spring Valley, WI.

Two of her proudest personal accomplishments were her decades long career at 3M and obtaining her bachelor’s degree acquired late in life from Metropolitan State University.

She was a talented pianist and was the organist for Salem Lutheran Church in Stillwater, MN for many years. She was an avid reader and a book club member. She also loved knitting and participated in a knitting group at St. Andrews Village in Mahtomedi, MN where she lived for the past 4 years. She had a strong faith and was a member of St. Andrews Lutheran Church in Mahtomedi, MN.

Her world revolved around her family and friends and she will be dearly missed. Everyone always enjoyed her fantastic lefse that she made for Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays.

Survivors include sister, Judith Hoops (Marvin) of Duluth MN; brother, Lyle Christopherson of Spring Valley WI; children, Todd Sorenson (Susan) of Minneapolis, MN, Timothy Sorenson (Julie) of Minnetonka, MN, Kari Hallowell (Jim) of San Clemente CA, Scott Sorenson (Bonny) of Granite Falls WA; grandchildren, Celinda, Davin, Kyla, Tristan, Erik, Bryan, Jenna; and great-grandchild, Kyler. She was preceded in death by her parents.

The family would like to thank both Lakeview Hospice and the Pillars Hospice Home for their kindness, love, and support.

A celebration of life will be held 11 AM Saturday, May 21, 2022 at St. Andrews Lutheran Church, 900 Stillwater Rd, Mahtomedi, with visitation beginning one hour prior. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the American Cancer Society or The Pillars Hospice Home (please mail directly to 6025 Upper 35th Street North, Oakdale, MN 55128).
