beloved husband, father, grandfather

Passed away following a brief illness on February 11, 2023.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Emmert and Phyllis; infant daughter, Joy; brother, Steve. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Marge; children, Bryan (Brenda Barnhouse), Jeff, Paul (Adriana); grandsons, Tyler (11), Oliver (7). Also survived by brother and sister in laws: Jean Carr, Michael Johnson, Susan Britney,  Bill Johnson, Wayne Johnson (Laurie Vadnais), Janet Murphy (Kevin Murphy); many nieces and nephews. The hole left by his absence will be as big as his presence ever was. Ray was a mechanical engineer with 3M for 45 years, which kept him busy, but his true passions were found outside of work. He was active in Scouting for many years, he was a volunteer brakeman at the Minnesota Transportation Museum, he enjoyed camping and the great outdoors of the North Shore. He had a deep and abiding Christian faith. His love for his family was paralleled only by his love for fast cars. He was active in SCCA racing, winter ice racing, the Corvette Club of Minnesota, and volunteered at Donnybrook (now Brainerd International Raceway). A Memorial Service will be held, Monday February 20, 2023 at 3:00 PM (Bradshaw Celebration of Life Center, 2800 Curve Crest Blvd. Stillwater, MN) with visitation beginning at 1:00 PM.
