Reverend Ronald Allen Nielsen

Rev. Ronald A. Nielsen was born in Ringsted, Iowa on March 3, 1940. He died on April 21, 2024 in Mahtomedi, Minnesota. Ron finished high school in Estherville, Iowa and in 1967 finished his professional training at Luther Theological Seminary in St. Paul, Minnesota. He married Kathrine (Toft) Nielsen on June 3, 1961 and they most recently celebrated 62 years of marriage.  Their family includes children, grandchildren, siblings, cousins, and many friends.  During Ron’s working years he served as parish pastor, interim pastor, and bible camp executive.  For one special year, he and Kathie served in Madagascar as missionaries with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. Memorial service will be at 11:00am Monday, April 29, 2024 at St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church, 900 Stillwater Road, Mahtomedi, with visitation one hour prior. Ron’s ashes will be placed at the Columbarium at St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church.  Ron asked that memorials be given to Lutheran World Relief or the White Bear Lake Food Shelf.
