Richard A. Barnes

Passed away peacefully at his home in Stillwater, MN on November 21, 2016, at the age of 89. Preceded in death by his parents, Mabel and Chester Barnes and birth father, Thor Angvik. Survived by his wife of 65 years, Barbara Barnes; children, Jim Barnes (Melinda), Dan Barnes (Alison), Jennifer Barnes; brothers, Charles Barnes, David Barnes; sister, Nancy McKenna; 6 grandchildren and many nieces/nephews. He grew up in Duluth, MN. A lifelong member of the Presbyterian Church, graduated from UM-Duluth, served in WW II, a Mason and an Optimist. He worked as a sales manager for Moore Business Forms for 38 years. He brought much joy to many people by his sense of humor and storytelling. He was an avid skier (skiing at 81!), golfer, bicyclist, enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family and friends. He was a loving husband and father and will be missed by all. Visitation Thursday, Dec. 1st at 10:00AM with Memorial Service at 11:00AM at 1st Presbyterian Church of Stillwater. Memorials preferred.
