Richard Carlson

Richard Earl Carlson was born to Albin & Mabel Carlson on June 28th, 1928 in St. Croix Falls, WI. He was baptized & confirmed at Elim Lutheran Church in Scandia, MN where he lived with his family. He graduated from Lindstrom High School in 1947. He worked on the family farm until he started a full time job at Andersen Windows. He was drafted into the army in 1950 with an honorable discharge in 1952. Upon discharge he went back to work for Andersen Windows. In 1955 he was united in marriage to Rosella (Sally) Radtke. For one year they lived in Scandia & later moved to Stillwater. To this union their son Brian Todd was born followed by daughter Nancy Sue. In 1959 they joined Bethlehem Lutheran Church located in Bayport. Richard was an active member of the Bayport Legion & he served many dinners of chicken & fish. In 1989 he retired from Andersen Windows after 40 years of employment. He & Sally enjoyed bus trips to many different locations. He loved his home, his 3 grandchildren, the Minnesota Vikings, The Minnesota Gophers & playing 500. He enjoyed his neighbors & they loved him. For the past 5 years he was homebound due to mobility issues after having many surgeries on both hips.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters Betty & Irene & his brother Lawrence. He is survived by his wife Sally, three sisters Vernette, Delores & Janice & 1 brother David. Also survived by 3 grandchildren Cady Rose Solberg, Christopher Richard Carlson, & Michael Tyler Carlson.

He will be missed by many, peace be to his memory.
