Born October 6, 1939, went to be home with his Lord on November 4, 2009. After graduating from Bloomington High School he served proudly as a U. S. Marine. He is preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Frances. He is survived by 4 children, Scott (Lori) Downey, Tiffany (Stewart) Hafiz, Bridget (David) Kahn and Crystalyn (Tony) Noland; 16 grandchildren; 2 sisters, Harriet Richter and Sharon Bixby. Richard and his loving soul mate Gail Dietrich reside in Scandia, MN where they celebrated family fun and "Poppy Pancakes". They love their dog Molly and spending time on the beach at their condo in Florida. Memorials to be given to a charity of the donor's choice in Richard's name. Funeral service 11:00 AM, Monday, November 9 at ST. ANDREW LUTHERAN CHURCH, 13600 Technology Drive (one mile west of 494 along State 5/212), Eden Prairie. Visitation 4 to 7 PM, November 8 at Bradshaw (McDivitt-Hauge), 3131 Minnehaha Avenue South and one hour prior services at church. Interment at Hillside Cemetery.
