Dick Evenson passed away peacefully at home on Nov 10, 2024, 87 years young. Born in Bagley, Minnesota on Sept 30th. Preceded in death by parents, Waldo and Bernice Evenson; sister, Evelyn Ozeroff; sister-in-law, Paula Lynch.
Dick was a kind, quiet, and gentle man who had a great sense of humor till the very end. His faith was important to him. Some may call him Bud, Dick, Dad, Poopa, Grandpa, The Great One, or maybe the Whistling Yankee. He loved us. We love him. He will be dearly missed by his wife, Eloise; their daughters, Tangi (Bruce) Schaapveld, Tracy (John) Simpson, and Terri (Bill) Evenson; grandchildren Lexi (Justin) Schaapveld, Piper (Justin) Craft, Bryce Simpson, Fort and Ellie Evenson; great grandson Mr. Hayes Craft; his sister-in-law, Beth Robins; his brother-in-law, Bill Ozeroff; his nieces and nephews, and many lifelong friends.
After graduating with a Business Degree from the University of Minnesota, he worked at 3M for 33 years. Opening the new 3M plant in Oklahoma was an exciting time for him.
“Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming ‘Wow! What a Ride!’”
