Richard A. Fair
Age 72, passed away on November 14, 2014 after a faithful walk with the Lord and a courageous battle with cancer. Born August 5, 1942 in Minneapolis, he moved to Chokio, MN where he loved working the family farm. He attended Herman High School where he was president of student council and participated in numerous choirs, the band, and several sports. Dick graduated from the University of MN in 1965 with a degree in Chemical Engineering. At the "U," he was a member of Phi Gamma Delta, Iron Wedge, the Inter-Fraternity Council, Men's Glee Club, and the American Institute of Chemical Engineers. He was a Welcome Week Advisor when he met the love of his life, Kathy. Dick enjoyed 40+ years in the Oil, Gas, Petrochemical and Plastics industries where he was an award-winning director of over 40 international and domestic projects, moving the family to such places as Tokyo, Saudi Arabia and Qatar. He is mostly remembered for his tremendous faith in Jesus which he freely loved to share, and he served his church well as an Elder and Treasurer. He loved his sheep ranch in Livingston, MT, fishing lakes in Minnesota and Canada and singing. He will be remembered as a humble, servant-leader, and a loving husband and patriarch. Dick is survived by his wife of 50 years, Kathy, his four children, Annie (Mike), Barbara (Per), Mike (Tracey), and Chuck (Melissa), 11 grandchildren, and one great-grandson. He was recently preceded in death by his brother Charlie Berg and grandson Joey. Celebration at 12 noon (visitation, 10:30 am), reception following on Tuesday, Nov. 18th at Real Life Church, 2353 Chatsworth St N, Roseville, MN. Memorials to Real Life Church preferred.
