Richard Jorgensen

Richard passed away unexpectedly at the age of 52 on Sunday, September 5th at his home in Stillwater. Richard was born in St. Paul, MN and then spent most of his first nine years living in California before moving to Fridley, Minnesota. Richard was confirmed at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Fridley and was a 1976 graduate of Spring Lake Park High School. Not long after completing high school, Richard joined the Army and served from1976 - 1979 after which he was honorably discharged. After leaving the Army, Richard attended 916 Metro Technical College (now Century College) where he received his technical school certificate for computer programming. Soon after completing his certificate, Richard began his career working within the field of Information Technology. Richard completed his undergraduate studies at Metropolitan State University where he received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in business administration and later began working toward his MBA.

Richard was an outstanding musician who played guitar and enjoyed singing. Richard enjoyed playing basketball for Spring Lake Park High School, in the Army as well as with countless men's league teams. Richard enjoyed spending time with family most recently taking a trip to the North Shore and was a very proud father of two daughters.

Richard was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Darlene Hemley; grandparents, Albert and Mabel Jorgensen and Hazel and Ernest Wendorff. Richard is survived by his wife of 15 years, Susan; daughters, Lauren and Sara; parents, Albert and Lorraine Jorgensen; father-in-law, Morrie Hemley; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Penny and Ken Kurhajec; brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Pam Jorgensen; sister, Lisa Fondie; along with several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Funeral Service Friday, 1:30 P.M. at BRADSHAW CELEBRATION OF LIFE CENTER, 2800 Curve Crest Boulevard (NW corner of Hwy 36 & Co Rd 5), Stillwater. Visitation one hour prior to the service at the Center. Interment at Fairview Cemetery, Stillwater. Memorials preferred in lieu of flowers.
