Dick was born in Stillwater and was a life-long resident. He passed away suddenly at home on June 19, 2012. Dick was preceded in death by his parents, Edmund A. and Evelyn G. Ulrich. He is survived by his wife, Jackie; daughters, Jess (Greg) Harris of Ramsey, MN and Tammie (Jeff) Hefty of Mt. Horeb, WI; beloved granddaughter, Evelyn "Evie" Jo Hefty; brother, James (Marje) Ulrich of Stillwater; nieces, Kris (Todd) Doerr and Jennifer (Paul) Schuldt and many friends. Dick was a graduate of Stillwater High School and was proud of serving his community as a police officer for the city of Stillwater. He was a former Toastmaster, St. Croix Valley Barbershopper, member of Eagles # 94 and Sons of the American Legion in Bayport. In retirement, Dick dabbled in several endeavors, most recently as " The Line Guy" / Dick's Parking Graphics. Dick enjoyed bowling and was an avid golfer. He always loved to tell a great story and was the last to leave a gathering of any sort. Dick's greatest love was of the four ladies in his life: Jackie, Jessica, Tammie and Evie Jo. He will be greatly missed and never forgotten. Memorial service Friday, 11:00AM with visitation beginning at 10:00AM at OUR SAVIOR'S LUTHERAN CHURCH 1616 W. Olive St., Stillwater.
