Passed away peacefully at home on February 17, 2010 at age 86. Preceded in death by parents, Charles and Marie Wallace and step-mother, Margaret Wallace. Survived by loving wife of 42 years, Betty; children, Michael (Anne) and John (Cassie); grandchildren, Madeline, Caitlin, Liam and Sadie; other relatives and friends. Dick was deeply interested in and actively engaged with the lives of his children and grandchildren and had a special relationship with each one. His sense of humor, love of gardening, travel and most importantly his presence will be greatly missed. He was a proud Army Veteran who served during World War II in the Battle of the Bulge and two other major battles. Mass of Christian Burial 11AM on Monday, Feb. 22, 2010 at CHURCH OF SAINT BERNARD, 197 West Geranium at Rice Street, St. Paul. Visitation Sunday from 3 to 6 PM with prayers at 5PM at BRADSHAW 1078 Rice Street at Magnolia, St. Paul and one hour prior to Mass at church on Monday. Private family interment at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are welcomed to Church of St. Bernards or American Cancer Society.
