“Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all”
- Dick Waskey
In the early morning hours of March 9, 2022, Dick took his last breath here on earth and entered the glorious presence of Jesus. Dalene was by his side as he went peacefully. We are grieving and sad, but holding on to each other and to the promises of God’s truth: Dick is healed, and with Jesus, and we will see him again.
He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Dalene; children, Jacob (Tiffany), Joelle (Scott) Dwyer, Anya (Josiah) Young, Ezra, Mathias (Maya), Levi; grandchildren, Avalon, Lewis, Ellanor, Finley, Rhett Richard, Elliot, and Wilder.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Marty.
Grounded always in his devotion to the Lord, Dick demonstrated commitment and loyalty in all things, particularly to his family and in his professional relationships.
He worked for the majority of his life as a designer at Andersen Windows. As dedicated as he was to his work, he was even more deeply committed to his wife, children and grandchildren. He instilled in them all his best qualities, from how to treat others, to professional ethics, to survival in the wilderness.
While attending NDSU, Dick started the university rugby team. He later coached the Forest Lake Boys' High School Swim Team and served as Royal Ranger Commander.
Dick loved outdoor adventure: hunting, camping, rock climbing, and exploring the Boundary Waters. He even went skiing just two weeks before he died.
We will gather to mourn and celebrate Dick at a visitation from 4-6pm Tuesday, March 15 at BRADSHAW, 2800 Curve Crest Blvd, Stillwater, and at his funeral at 12:00 on Wednesday at MARANATHA ASSEMBLY OF GOD, 24799 Forest Blvd N, Forest Lake. There will be visitation one hour prior to the church service and a luncheon served following. Interment will be at a later date. A livestream of the service can be viewed at: https://www.facebook.com/MaranathaForestLake/
“Turn your eyes upon Jesus
Look full in his wonderful face
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim
In the light of his glory and grace”
“Yet I will praise You
Yet I will sing of Your name
Here in the shadows
Here I will offer my praise
What's true in the light
Is still true in the dark
You're good and You're kind
And You care for this heart
Lord, I believe
You weep with me”
