Richard James Yorston, D.D.S.
2/8/39 - 8/29/19
Dick Yorston died August 29, 2019 of pancreatic cancer in his home, surrounded by family.
He was a witty, smart, kind and gregarious man who had a passion for people. He went out of his way to appreciate everyone he met and thank them for what they were doing- no matter who they were. He practiced dentistry for over 40 years in Minneapolis and nothing delighted him more than to make people smile. Whether by entertaining them with his quirky, silly jokes and little stories or by giving them a way to feel proud of their smile again.
Survived by his wife (and high school sweetheart) of over 58 years, Patricia; three children: Lynne (Steve) McDowall, Colleen (Steve) Smetana, and Paul Yorston; beloved grandchildren: Daniel, Nicholas, and Catherine Smetana; sister and brothers: Dean (Judy) Yorston, Judy (Bob) Millard, William (Debbie) Yorston, and sister-in-law Sandy Yorston; and
many relatives and friends.
Preceded in death by his infant son, Thomas; parents: George Yorston, Beatrice Yorston; brother: James Yorston; and brother-in-law: Daniel Maguire.
He was loved and will be missed, but will continue to influence our lives by his example.
