Robert P. (Bob) Barbeau
Lake St. Croix Beach, MN, died quietly at home on July 7, 2008 after a 13 year battle with multiple myeloma. Born in St. Paul, MN on September 23, 1929, he was preceded in death by his son, James M.; parents, Emil and Rose Barbeau; brother, Richard; sisters, Geneva (Perry) and Bernice (Ranford). Survived by his wife of 57 years, Nancy (Kemp); sons, Thomas (Laura) and Andrew (Donna); daughters, Victoria Cudworth (Peter) and Valerie Bartl (Jeffrey); 11 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
Bob was an avid Twins fan and an accomplished amateur softball player and coach for many enjoyable years with the St. Paul Senior Saints, first place winners of the 2006 North American Senior Softball Olympics. In 1974 he served in the St. Paul Winter Carnival as Sergeant of the King?s Guard. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and a life-long salesman. He was a regular blood donor until the onset of his illness.
Bob was a gregarious guy, greatly loved and appreciated by his family and friends. He will be deeply missed by all who had the good fortune to know him.
Visitation Wed., July 9, between 4 and 8 p.m. at Bradshaw Celebration of Life Center, 2800 Curve Crest Blvd., Stillwater (NW corner of Hwys 36 & 5). Family and friends will gather to remember Bob at 10 am Thurs., July 10, at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 16770 13th St. So., Lake St. Croix Beach, MN 55043
Followed by a Memorial Mass at 11 am.
