Robert Bielenberg

Robert "Bob" Bielenberg, of Stillwater passed away peacefully from cancer on August 15, 2024 at the age of 86. Born on August 3, 1938 in Newport, Minnesota, Bob lived a life rich in love, dedication, and service.

Bob worked as an electrical contractor for 38 years and as a recreation center manager for the city of Stillwater for nine years, during which he served as president of the Minnesota Ice Arena Manager Association. In retirement, he continued to work at Sawmill and Loggers Trail golf courses until the age of 85. Outside of his professional life, Bob was known for his deep love of local sports and golf. For over forty years he could be found announcing Stillwater High School hockey, soccer and lacrosse. His enthusiasm for local sports brought joy not only to himself but to those around him. He was also an avid fan of the St. Paul Saints.

Bob's greatest pride and joy was his family. Preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Gertrude. He is survived by his wife, Ann Marie; siblings, Audrey (Chris), Warren, Judy (Mike) and Sandy; his children, Bruce, Brian, Bradley (Bernadine), and Brent (Kiwi); his treasured grandchildren, Aleisha, Ryan, Aliosha, Julia, Rachel, Emilia, and Jack; and two great-grandchildren, Anna and Olivia. His family will remember him for his countless moments of laughter and love they shared.

A lifelong resident of Stillwater, Bob was a charter member of the Valley Athletic Association and the St. Croix Valley Hockey Association. He held several offices in the VAA and was awarded the VAA's George W. Olson Award and the Hockey Association's Lester Thompson Award. He was elected a Jaycee Senator, the highest award given by the Jaycees International. He actively contributed to local sports as a coach, referee, public address announcer and organizer; his kindness and generosity left a lasting impact. His legacy will be carried forward by the many lives he touched through his acts of service and friendship.

Visitation will be held on Thursday August 22nd from 4:30-6:30 pm at Bradshaw Celebration of Life Center, 2800 Curve Crest Blvd, Stillwater. A memorial service to celebrate Bob's life will be held on September 27th at 11:00 am at Bradshaw with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to S.C.V.A.A., PO Box 44, Stillwater, MN 55082.

Bob Bielenberg will be profoundly missed, but his spirit and the memories he created will remain in the hearts of all who knew him.
