Passed away peacefully on September 12, 2012 from complications of dementia with Lewy Bodies. Born October 12, 1928, Robert was a veteran of the Korean War, a St. Paul Police Officer, and a retired St. Paul Firefighter. He is preceded in death by the love of his life and wife, Joan Flanagan. Robert was the proud father of 5 children, Kathleen Arndt of Sarasota, FL, Casey Flanagan of Laguna Hills, Ca, Mark Flanagan of Tumwater, WA, Amy Flanagan of Woodbury, and Bob Flanagan of Minneapolis. He was grandpa to 7 beautiful grandchildren. Preceded in death by sisters, Penny Proulx & Betty Holman; and brothers, Rich and Raymond Flanagan. Survived by sisters, Marion Tolland, Kathleen "Lolly" Hubbard, Corine Thompson and Joan Steinar; brother, Jim; and many nieces and nephews. Robert was an avid golfer and loved to spend time with his family. His quick wit and light hearted banter will be dearly missed. A special thank you to the 3rd floor staff in the Gables at Boutwell's Landing, not only for the exceptional care of out father, but also for your generosity, love and support. Memorial service Saturday, September 15, 2012, 10 AM with visitation at 9 AM at BRADSHAW CELEBRATION OF LIFE CENTER, 2800 Curve Crest Boulevard (NW corner of HWY 36 & Co. Pd. 5), Stillwater.
