ROBERT KRUGER

Age 76 of Oakdale, passed away unexpectedly on October 13, 2024. He is survived by his partner of 22 years, Cindy Hofkes; grandchild, Jax; sisters, Sue (Bob) Chitty, Cindy (Bill) Best, Jenny Dreyling; children, Kevin (Laura), Jessica Pierre, Tara Roiger, Alycia Hofkes; grandchild, Katie Rose; sisters-in-law, Sue Neisse, Jody Marchetti, Julie Pitkin; niece, nephews and friends; a large contingent of cousins, including Terry Walters and Terri Lynn Johnson; special friends, Randy Benoit, Jim Jensen. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herb and Betty Kruger; sister, Brenda Hajek.

Bob had a generous spirit that flowed through everything he did - from donating blood (where he met Cindy), to cooking for and feeding everyone, especially those in need - including multiple generations of the (almost tame) deer family in his backyard. After retiring as an ironworker, Bob lived out his passion for hospitality by going to culinary school, working most recently at Jax Café and the Padelford Boat Company. Together, Bob and Cindy enjoyed traveling, cruises, and just enjoying each other's company. His best gift was his ability to make Cindy laugh. He was also gifted at knowing just what someone needed, be it a cool drink or a plate of food, to uplift their spirits.

Bob was proud of his military service and always made a point of participating in Jax's school Veterans Day programs. He was an avid gardener, and he and Jax planted a broad variety of vegetables and herbs over the years. This only helped broaden Jax's palate and interest in trying new foods at college, so they could report back to Grandpa about their new favorites.

Memorial service will be 12:00 noon on Thursday, October 24, 2024 at BRADSHAW, 2800 Curve Crest Blvd, Stillwater, with visitation one hour prior. Interment at Fort Snelling at a later date. Memorials preferred.
