Passed away on September 19, 2018. Survived by wife of 55 years, Kathie; children, Missy (Ted Sommerfeld), Molly (Mike Cobian), Tom, Tim (Jewel); daughter-in-law, Kari; grandchildren, Satori Handley, Kiyana, Kamarah, Arayah Maynard; brothers, Earl "Bud" (Sharon) of Minneapolis, William "Bill" (Jan) of California. Bob was everybody's dad, and gave the best hugs. He always put others first, and loved Kathie above and beyond everything else. He was supported by a faith that carried him with strength through recent years of illness with Frontal Temporal Lobe Dementia and recurring prostate and bladder cancers, and finally cardiac arrest. Though challenged by illness, Bob met his maker on his own terms, exemplifying for all who loved him how to die with dignity and grace. Bob's family would like to extend their thanks to his caregivers from Lakeview Hospice and the staff at Lakeview MICU, the staff and volunteers at Family Means; they are angels on earth. Memorial Gathering will be at 2PM, service at 3PM on Sunday, October 7 at SHEPHERD OF THE VALLEY CHURCH, 14107 Hudson Rd S, Afton. Dessert and fellowship to follow. In lieu of flowers, gifts to Lakeview Hospice or Family Means preferred.
