Robert Walquist

Born May 2, 1928; Deceased December 16, 2017. A lifelong resident of Marine on St. Croix, Bob loved the St. Croix River and the village of Marine perched on its banks. After serving in the Korean War, Bob returned to Marine and worked alongside his father in the family business until his father's death. After his own retirement, Bob indulged his passion for local history and was an avid collector of knives, antique outboard motors, and logging era tools and memorabilia. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and an enthusiastic friend to many people of all ages. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Ann Walquist, brother Jack Walquist, and sister Janet Walquist Patton; survived by his wife of sixty-two years, Betty; daughters Nancy Miller (Win) and Mary Walquist; grandchildren Ann Cashner (Andrew), Amanda Reynolds (Chad), and Robert Miller (Sarah); great-grandchildren Ben and Joy Cashner, Dylan and Kierian Reynolds; and sister Shirley Mills and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held Friday, December 22nd, 11:00 AM at CHRIST LUTHERAN CHURCH, Marine on St. Croix, with visitation Thursday, December 21st, 5:00 - 8:00 PM and half hour prior to the Friday service, both at Christ Lutheran. Memorials preferred to Christ Lutheran Church, Marine on St. Croix.
