Passed away at home on May 10, 2018, surrounded by his family. Preceded in death by parents, William and Alma; sister, Betty Lacey. Survived by wife of 34 years, Marlene; children, Christine (Kerm Burt) Van Dyke, Julie (John) Brenny, Jane Christenson; grandchildren, Daniel (Kelly) Van Dyke, Brian Van Dyke, Michael Van Dyke, Allison (Paul Snoxell) Brenny, Madeline (Cameron) Nelson, Andrew Brenny; great-grandson, Max Van Dyke; brother, Richard Hoppel; nieces, nephews and friends. Roger lived life to the fullest, and everything he did exemplified his passion for life. His true love was his family, and any occasion that brought them together: movie dates with Jane, time with his grandkids. He enjoyed his yard and garden, fishing and traveling, and getting to know people. He would take on all challengers in cribbage and was always appreciative of Marlene's cooking. Memorial service will be 11AM Monday, May 21 at PRINCE OF PEACE LUTHERAN CHURCH, 2561 Victoria St N, Roseville, with visitation 4-6PM Sunday, May 20 at BRADSHAW, 4600 Greenhaven Dr, White Bear, and one hour prior to service at church. Memorials to Wingspan Life Resources or Prince of Peace OK's preferred.
