Age 85, of Mpls passed away peacefully on November 12, 2010 surrounded by his family. Rolly was born June 29, 1925 in Braham, MN, the son of Frank and Mildred (Roper) Allen. He graduated from Rush City High School and in 1943 joined the Navy where he served as a pilot, continuing in the reserves until 1968. Rolly spent over 40 years in the insurance business, first with Group Health and later with North Central Life in St Paul. He was an avid golfer and a long-time member of the Town and Country Club. Roland is survived by his wife of 61 years, Bette; children: Kathy (John) Kettering, Karen Allen, Jim (Cheryl) Allen, Barb Allen (Dan Humphreys), Mary Jo Allen and Lauren Speer; siblings: Pat (Gordon) Murray, Merrill (June) Allen and Michael (Lynn) Allen, and 12 grandchildren: Tim and Sean (Sarah) Kettering, Colleen (Hobby) Weiss, Casey Allen, Brandy Mahowald, Rachael Bower, Alex Humphreys, Michael Speer, Zach, Lizzie, Jake and Cynthia Allen. Thank you to all of his caregivers at the nursing home at the Alton Memory Care, his Navy buddies and a special thank you to his loyal friend, Bob Florin. Service Tuesday, November 16 ^th at 2PM at BRADSHAW, 678 South Snelling at Eleanor,


St. Paul. Private Interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Visitation Monday, November 15 ^th from 4-7PM and one hour prior to the service.
