Ron passed into Our Lord’s arms on 3-18-21 surrounded by family.

He was born in a Wisconsin farmhouse on 9-15-35. He grew up on St.Paul’s lower east side and later White Bear Lake. He married Lois Koemptgen in 1957 and resided in St. Paul. Ron worked for FOK and Pearson’s Candy. He was proud of being a self-taught engineer and electrician and happy to share his talents by helping others. A faithful Catholic, he was active in St Bernard’s and St. John’s/St. Gen’s Church Communities. His other passion was the Airstream community. He and Lois traveled and made friends from all over the USA.

He was preceded in death by parents, Ed and Margaret Dettman; sister, Maureen Peterson; and grandson, Mike Ozruh.

He is survived by wife of 64 years, Lois; children, Karen (Frank) Wegleitner, Sue (Bob) Hager, Tom (Sandy), Chris (Troy) Pugsley; grandkids, Ryan, Sara, Katie, Nick, Celia, Giovanni, Jason; siblings, Lucy Clark and Joe Dettmann; and 5 great-grandchildren.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11am Thursday at the CHURCH OF ST. GENEVIEVE, 6995 Centerville Rd followed by interment at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Due to Covid restrictions, there will be no visitation and a 70 person limit in the church.
