Roxy (Roxanne) Elizabeth Bannerman
66 years of age, passed away after a short illness on June 30, 2023 at North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale, Minnesota.
Roxy was born January 29, 1957 in St. Paul, MN to the late Louis and Margaret Dabe. The third of four children and grew up in St. Paul. She attended St. Bernard's school in St. Paul and graduated in 1975. She completed her associates degree through Brown Institute, and over the years, Roxy held many administrative positions including with Sperry Univac (Unisys), RGIS, Reader's Digest/Willow House , Marquette University, Eastern Virginia Medical School, and most recently Minnesota DOT. In all positions she was an exemplary employee, who placed great value on the relationships she formed through her career.
Roxy's greatest joy was found through time spent with her grandchildren. She loved any activity that involved them, and was always the loudest fan at any football, gymnastics, baseball, softball, or track and field event.
Roxy enjoyed spending time with her husband, children and grandchildren, and would take on the role of "mom" to anyone else in their lives that needed her. To know Roxy was to be loved by Roxy. She was a fiercely loyal, giving friend. Roxy loved to travel, spend time at home with Jerry and Missy, scrapbook, and cook. As she grew up fishing with her father, she would spend as much time near water in the outdoors as she could. Her dream was to retire and fish every day, with her grandchildren nearby of course.
A woman of strength, acceptance, and deep love, Roxy lit up every room she was in. She will be eternally missed by all that were blessed to know her. The family would like to thank the nursing and medical staff in the ICU at North Memorial Hospital for their loving care of Roxy during her brief illness.
Roxy is survived by her loving husband of 28 years, Jerry; her son Dan (Marie) Salava; stepdaughter Liz (Tyler) Newkirk; stepson Matthew Bannerman; her six grandchildren Xander, Maddie, Brayden, Tyler, Aspen, and Tayler; her beloved canine best friend Missy; and many nieces and nephews.
Roxy was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Margaret Dabe; her brothers Corky and Jim Dabe; and her sister Sue Osland.

"She was beautiful, for the way she thought. She was beautiful, for the sparkle in her eyes when she talked about something she loved. She was beautiful, for her ability to make other people smile, even if she was sad. No, she wasn't beautiful for something as temporary as her looks. She was beautiful, deep down to her soul."
