Castor, Russell E.
Age 93, of Stillwater, formerly of Detroit Lakes. Born June 15, 1920 in Marshalltown, IA. Graduated from Fairbank High School where he met the love of his life, Eileen. They were married March 1, 1941. He received his undergraduate degree from Upper Iowa University and his Masters of Educational Administration from the University of Washington. Russell served his country during WWII in Counter Intelligence in the South Pacific. He spent a lifetime in education serving schools in Iowa and Minnesota. He was an avid fisherman and loved his sports. Preceded in death by wife of 68 years, Eileen; and sons, Daryl, Rodney, Hadley and Dale. Survived by children, Dany (Judy), Lynn Lucich, Karen (James) Larson, Susan (Ed) Boeve and Jennifer (Marc) Hamlet; 11 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. Service Thursday, 3:00 P.M. at BRADSHAW CELEBRATION OF LIFE CENTER, 2800 Curve Crest Boulevard (NW corner of Hwy 36 & Co Rd 5), Stillwater. Private interment Union Chapel Cemetery, Ira, Iowa. Visitation one hour prior to the service. Memorials are preferred to Lakeview Hospice, 1715 Tower Drive West, Suite 330, Stillwater, MN 55082.
