Ruth Ann Anderson, 79, of Arden Hills, passed away on Thursday, December 2, 2021.
She was born to Don and Inez Shrontz on February 21, 1942 in Lansing, MI. She grew up on a
dairy farm in Grand Ledge, MI, graduating from Grand Ledge High School in 1960. After
graduating from high school, she worked as a secretary at Michigan State University. She met
Dr. Stanley D. Anderson at Oneida Gospel Church where she played the organ and he was an
occasional preacher. They were married in 1963.
They lived in Boston, MA area where Stan was the pastor of Forestdale Community Church in
Malden, MA and then Calvary Baptist Church in Dorchester, MA. Ruth worked as a secretary
for a law firm in Boston during that time. In 1968 they moved to St. Paul, MN in order for Stan
to take a position teaching philosophy at Bethel University. Ruth worked as a secretary in St.
Paul and prided herself on her secretarial skills. She also ran an in-home daycare while raising
her own children. Ruth eventually began working as a secretary in various offices at Bethel
University, spending the last 20 plus years working for President George Brushaber before
retiring.
In her free time, she enjoyed traveling, scrapbooking, tending to flowers, spending time with
friends, enjoying time with grandchildren, and watching sports especially the Minnesota Twins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Don and Inez Shrontz; brother and sister-in-law,
Duane and Jody Shrontz; and sister-in-law, Eva Davidson.
Ruth will be missed by her loving husband of 58 years, Dr. Stanley Anderson; son, Mark (Kim);
daughters, Melanie and Mindy; grandchildren, Brittany, Bailey, Lydia, Luke, and Leah; great-
granddaughter, Ellie; and brother, Dale Davidson.
Visitation will be Sunday, December 12 from 4-6pm at Bradshaw Funeral and Cremation
Services, 4600 Greenhaven Dr., White Bear. Funeral Service will be Monday, December 13 at
11am with visitation one hour prior at North Haven Church, 2240 15th Ave E, North St. Paul.
Private interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Bethel University.
