age 91 of Waverly Gardens in North Oaks. Passed away July 15, 2018. Predeceased by loving husband of 63 years, Edmond; son, Curtis; brothers, Frank and James; and her parents. Survived by daughter Polly (Robb) LaChappelle; grandsons, Curtis, Jackson, Joel; niceces, nephews and many friends. Born and raised in Bristol, CT and 1945 graduate of Bristol High School. Graduate of Tufts University in 1949 with a BA in Economics. At Tufts, she became a member of Alpha Omicron Pi sorority. Upon graduation, she worked at Aetna Life Insurance Company at the home office in Hartford, CT, spending two years as a Group Insurance underwriter. She married Edmond in 1951. They lived in CT, IL, OH and MI where she was an active member of each community. They moved to MN ten years ago to be closer to family. Ruth enjoyed many activities including volunteering in several clubs and committees, traveling, entertaining, opera, performance theater and study groups. Memorial service will be 11AM Friday, July 27 at WAVERLY GARDENS, 5919 Centerville Road, North Oaks, with visitation one hour prior. A memorial service and interment for Ruth and Edmond will be 10AM Monday, August 6 at the First Congregational Church in Bristol, CT. Memorials preferred to Presbyterian Homes Foundation for Waverly Gardens Library Fund, 5919 Centerville Rd, North Oaks, MN 55127 or donor's choice.
