Scott Tierney

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Scott Tierney, age 60, on November 7th, 2021. He went home to be with Jesus and was welcomed by those who preceded him in death: his parents, Lorraine Thomford and Charlie Tierney; sister, Barbara Jean McMahon; daughter, baby Sarah; mother-in-law, Sharon Blaul; and his fur babies Chip and Holly. Scottie grew up in St. Paul, and spent 37 years as a book binder for Thomson Reuters. He enjoyed motorcycle trips, drives in the car and hosting family parties. He was meticulous with an ability to envision a project and then bring it to life. He had a straightforward way of communicating that was both honest and loving. He was famous for his Scott-isms, and had no trouble encouraging you by saying, “Put that baggage down!” Scottie’s life and relationships were deeply impacted by his relationship with Jesus Christ. His time spent as part of the building maintenance team at Eagle Brook Church changed both him and the communities he served forever. Scottie was a generous, giving person who used his talents to serve others. His big bear hugs will be forever missed, and the hole left by his absence will be as big as his presence ever was. He will be deeply missed by those who survive him: his wife, Sue; daughter, Stephanie (Basim) Ziara; siblings, Pat (Jim) Townsend, Karen (Donnie) Bossart, Mary Jo (Al) Tucker, Kay (Dick) Pohl, Tom Tierney, John (Mary) Tierney; father-in-law, Jim Blaul; siblings-in-law, Vicky (Terry) Motz, Kathy (Eric) Johnson, Wendy (Jeff) Hamer, Jimmy (Sonya) Blaul, Billy (Wendy) Blaul; many nieces and nephews; countless friends and his Eagle Brook family. Celebration of Scottie’s life will be 11am Tuesday, November 16th at EAGLE BROOK CHURCH, 7775 20th Ave N, Lino Lakes, with visitation 2 hours prior. Scottie loved Jesus, his Suz, his family and Eagle Brook Church so in lieu of flowers, please make contributions to Eagle Brook Church in memory of Scott.
