Sharon Cunningham

d. August 6, 2015

Sharon "Wessie" Cunningham (aka, Hunny Punkin) was a gentle, humble spirit who loved children, bagpipes, pottery, and wildflowers. The beautiful, kind, and fair-minded eldest daughter of Russian and Scottish parents worked hard as a teenager and throughout her adult life. An avid gardener, she rescued wildflowers from paths along the St Croix River valley to prevent them from being crushed underfoot. Somewhat of a wildflower herself, she lived a shady green life in an olive green house at the end of a cul-de-sac with her loving husband (Dan) of 54 years. Besides her children (Brian, Lynn, and Neil) and grandchildren (Hugh, Casey, Rainy, and Aira), yellow or white moccasin flowers were her favorite wildflowers. She loved also jack-in-the-pulpits, which reflected her personalitya"soft spoken, unflashy, and modest. She was blessed with a forest of friends. Her Stillwater Bridge Club friends, Backyard Buds garden club friends, and Affirming Life cancer support group friends. Not to forget: her faithful St. Anthony Park friends, generous longstanding Stillwater friends, solid Laurie Court friends, treasured Sand Lake friends, and a few Canadiansa"these and other friends she met along the way were sources of great comfort and joy. Sharon left this world in peace and surrounded with love on Thursday, August 6.
