Shirley was born in 1927 in Shawano Wisconsin. She lived in both Wisconsin and Ohio in her youth. In 1946 she met and married the love of her life John S. Ralyon. Soon afterward they started a family with Sharon Ann, 10 years later they added Bruce John to make their family complete. In 1983 Shirley and John retired and moved to Minnesota to be closer to their grandchildren. Shirley worked in the Saint Paul public school system as a child care paraprofessional. She took care of kids before and after school. She loved children and worked well into her 80's before "retiring" again. She also was a Sunday school teacher for many years.
She loved to have friends over and to play games into the wee hours. She was quite the competitor! If she wasn't staying up late playing games, she was reading books. She was a voracious reader.
Shirley loved to cultivate a garden. She was an expert at growing things, and enjoyed her fresh produce.
Shirley loved her family fiercely, and never forgot a gift and card on a birthday or anniversary.
She was a long time member of Spirit of Life Bible Church in Woodbury, MN. Shirley enjoyed going to church, and she loved everyone there. She was a grandma to the whole church. It was important to Shirley that her family and friends knew God. She was a great women of prayer, and loved her God!
